CelebTV.com Reports Passing of Child Star Shirley Temple

Entrepreneur and sports broadcast executive Charles Besser founded the Chicago-based company Intersport in the mid-1980s. Since that time, he has produced sports and entertainment programming that has aired on such major networks as Discovery, ESPN, and NBC. Charles Besser also formed the Digital Media Group, which in turn created CelebTV.com.

CelebTV.com is a popular entertainment platform on the web. The site previews videos and news stories in such genres as fitness, sports, gadgets, style, music, and home. News videos can be shared with friends on Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Tumblr, and Reddit.

One of the top stories covered in February 2014 was the death of Shirley Temple Black. The former child star, who passed away at the age of 85, began acting, singing, and dancing when she was only five. Listed by Entertainment Weekly as one of the world’s greatest stars, the singer and actress was popularly known for her rendition of the song “The Good Ship Lollipop” as well as a number of film roles. “Bright Eyes,” produced in 1934, and “Curly Top,” released in 1935, were two early movies that popularly featured the star. Temple was also considered briefly for the role of Dorothy in the movie “The Wizard of Oz.”
