Sports Broadcasting Emmy Awards

Through Intersport, Inc., Charles Besser has overseen the broadcast of thousands of hours of televised sports programming on major cable networks and broadcast channels. Over the course of his career, Charles Besser has seen Intersport grow into one of the nation’s leaders in sports broadcasting. Charlie Besser and Intersport have received a number of industry awards, including an Emmy.

Earlier this year, the 34th annual Sports Emmy Award Ceremony was held at the Lincoln Center’s Fredrick P. Rose Hall. The ceremony included a Lifetime Achievement Award presentation to Jack Whitaker, who follows in the footsteps of recent honorees John Madden and Al Michaels. For more than 25 years, Emmys have been awarded for significant achievements in sports broadcasting and television coverage. The Awards are divided into a number of categories, such as Outstanding Live Sports Special, Outstanding Live Sports Series, Outstanding Live Event Turnaround, and Outstanding Playoff Coverage.
